The Team at Bribie Island Handyman Services was lucky enough to be tasked with the job of re-designing a complete courtyard at a property in Bongaree. The client, who had recently purchased the unit, asked us to completely remove the existing rotten decking and overgrown bamboo/shrubs and come up with an idea that would provide the wow factor for his private entertaining area.
First things first we needed a clean slate to work with. We spent a day removing a rotten timber deck and pulling out the overgrown plants.
The team then leveled the area so that we could get a better idea of what we were working with.
All of this had to be completed by hand as there was no way to get machinery into the area.
We devised some ideas and decided to rebuild an entire deck using Modwood. (Composite decking)
We built the subframe and opted to use a product called Quick-Clips to install the lengths of Modwood.
We then boxed up around the main tree in the courtyard which we would later use as a feature with lights shining up the centre.
Upon completion of the deck. We added a Merbau panel feature wall and installed a white 3m x 4m louvered patio to allow for some shade.
Lastly, we installed the Holmans range of colour-changing LED garden lights to light up the walkway and shine into the tree. (images to come)
The client loves his new outdoor entertaining area and we thoroughly enjoyed building the decking and patio area for him.
